Immediately after the arrival to Birmingham, this city in central England, you can notice th it’s modern and lively.
As a matter of fact, just out of the train station you are met by a streeet flanked by stores and crawling with people from all over the world.
It’s the area called Bullring, a real paradise for shopping where everything can be foud: from clothes to home ware, from shoes to books, from toys to food.
Close to the designer buildings that host the shop you can immediately notice a touch of history: St Martin’s Church, peeping out from the bright buildings and making evident at once that Birmingham is not afraid of looking to the future while remaining true to its local traditions.
The classic English pubs are not to be missed either. There you can try the typical fish and chips.
Several areas of the city deserve to be visited, though the outstanding ones, besides the Bullring with its famous bull, are Victoria Square (not to be missed in the evening, to admire the illuminated fountain) and the canals running along many streets of the town.
Mi ispira moltissimo e mi porta indietro al periodo delle lotte tra gli operai delle miniere di carbone…
