A night in Lecce – Palazzo dei Dondoli

You have heard so much talking about Salento that you are starting to become a little curious: the province of Lecce and its extravagant baroque, the sea and the nature, the olive trees, the flowering shrubs and fragrant plants, the aboundant food and the simple but fantastic recipes…

Lecce, which makes me thinking about Salento, welcomes anyone who wants to visit its streets and it historical center, anyone who lingers to observe the balconies, the facades of the buildings and of the churches, the skillful stoneworks, the artisans workshops and the little souvenir shops.

You’ll be surprised and won over by the aromas of good cuisine, taking your place at the table and seeing a menu listing homemade, traditional delicacies.
You will savour the unique tastes of the ground and the sea.

There are so many churches here. Allow yourself time to admire their exteriors: a triumph of harmonious shapes and decorations; then enter and enjoy the interior.

Don’t miss the stage of the Roman amphitheater in Piazza Sant’Oronzo and make sure to visit Bar Alvino where you can taste a special iced coffee and almond milk. Not only that, you can also have a snack: savory or sweet, pies or pastries, the decision is up to you.

Another pitstop that you won’t want to miss is Piazzetta Santa Chiara; the streets open up around it and there are other lively nighlife hotspots in this little square too: pubs, bars, wineries, restaurants…

A beautiful charming hotel lies along the walls of the historic center: the perfect place to stay to get the most out of your stay in Lecce.
Its name derives from the court to which it plays host – Corte dei Dondoli –  and it is therefore called Palazzo dei Dondoli.

The building rewards its guests with an extra “sensory” dimension: the smell of aromatic plants, comfortable sofas and an old-world atmosphere, almost like it has been frozen in time.

In the breakfast room you will find cakes that are fresh out of the oven, the smell of coffee hanging in the air and local Salento sweets and pastries ready for you to taste.

Palazzo dei Dondoli has classic and suite rooms available, as well as deluxe apartments. Every room has its own characteristic theme: Lecce stone for the classic rooms; jacuzzi pools and veranda with a view of the Villa Reale gardens in the suite rooms; and the two deluxe apartements have balconies.

The customer receives 360° attention, from the bountiful breakfast to restaurant and pub recommendations and free parking nearby, to the use of the best spa in the city, to an airport and train station transfer service for Brindisi and Bari.
